Better get ready, as… KUOPIO FILM FESTIVAL comes again!

This year, the theme of Vilimit is CITY, for celebrating 250th anniversary of Kuopio.

Kuopio’s most traditional Film Festival ”Vilimit” (38th year on 2025!) , the dates are: 25 – 28 September 2025 📽🎞🍿

The festival takes place at Kino Kuvakukko. Street address is Vuorikatu 27. You can easily find Kino Kuvakukko just one block only from the Market Place at the City Center.

The film programme is international, while also having many creative specialities linked to Kuopio this year, for celebrating 250 years of being a city, the growing centre of Savolax. Kuopio was established on November 17, 1775.

There will be various film genres represented (drama, documentary, horror, comedy/horror, sci-fi, anime, animation..). The films copies are with ORIGINAL LANGUAGES. Subtitles: please see the details on each film title.

The film programme & time table will be released in August.

The concert takes place at Arthouse Cinema Kino Kuvakukko, Vuorikatu 27, Kuopio. Kino Kuvakukko has 338 seats, being Kuopio’s largest cinema hall in the heart of Kuopio.
